About IBPS RRB CLERK Exam

The IBPS RRB Clerk exam is conducted to fill the posts of office assistant, which perform various types of banking activities in day to day life in Regional Rural Banks across the country. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is responsible for conducting this exam every year. Each year lacs of aspirants apply for this exam, as this is one of best jobs in banking sector. Any candidate with a Bachelors degree can apply for this vacancy and become a banking professional. The office assistants are recruited for multipurpose works in banks which gives diversified working options to candidates. The post of IBPS RRB Clerk comes under Group ‘B’ posts.

The Exam Pattern

Stage 1 : Preliminary Exam

Total test marks is 80 and The test total time is: 45 Mins

Stage 2 : Mains Exam

Penalty for wrong answers

There will be a penalty for each wrong answer marked by the candidate in both Prelims as well as Mains of IBPS RRB Clerk exam. The penalty will be one fourth of the marks assigned for that question. If no response is marked by the candidate then there will be no penalty.

Stage 3 : Document Verification

Candidates qualified in Mains are to appear before the board for document verification before the final allotment is done. Any candidate who fails to produce relevant documents may be considered inappropriate and his/her candidature may be cancelled.

The Exam Dates

The tentative schedule for IBPS RRB Clerk Preliminary Exam is in the month of Sep/Oct 2020. The mains for the same is scheduled to be conducted in the month of Oct/Nov 2020. Candidates are advised to keep in touch with the official website for latest updates.

Exam Score

Marks obtained in different sections of the Mains Examination will be normalized by equipercentile method. Score up to two decimal points will be considered for this purpose.

The method used to calculate is as shown below :

Percentile Rank of Candidate =[(Total candidates in a shift )–(Rank of the candidate in that shift)] * 100 / (Total candidate in that shift -1)

The Score Validity

● After successful completion of all stages a merit will be prepared by the board for various categories and provisional allotment will be given to selected candidates.

● Apart from the main list a reserve list is also prepared by the board as per the extent of vacancies.

● The score is valid for a duration of one year from the date of declaration of results.

● Any candidate fails to join for any reason from the main list then the very next candidate from the reserve list will be given a chance to join.

Exam Eligibility

A candidate wishes to apply for IBPS RRB Clerk exam to fulfill certain eligibility criteria as notified by the board in their advertisement. The eligibility criteria for IBPS RRB Clerk is as follows :

● The age of candidate should be between 18 years to 28 years i.e. Candidates should be born between 02.07.1992 and later than 01.07.2002 (both dates inclusive). But there is relaxation in age limit for various categories.

● Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline form a recognized university/institute or its equivalent.

● Candidates should have proficiency in their Local Language. Candidates must have studied the language in their VIII Standard.

Exam Fee

The Fee Structure for IBPS RRB Clerk Exam is as follows :

● For SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates – Rs. 175

● For all other candidates – Rs. 850

Fees once paid will be non refundable.

How to Apply

Step 1: Open the official website of IBPS and click on Home Page.

Step 2: Open the link “CRP for RRBs” and then choose option “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRP- RRBs- OFFICE ASSISTANT (Multipurpose)”. You will see the application from.

Step 3: Fill your basic information and Click on “Click Here For New Registration” tab visible on the page.

Step 4: A provisional registration number and password will be generated for you by the system. An Email and SMS will also be sent for the same.

Step 5: Candidates will have to upload their Photograph, Signature, Left hand thumb impression and a hand written declaration.

Step 6: Candidates are to use the ‘Save and Next’ option before finally submitting the application.

Step 7: You can preview your application and then finally click on the Submit button.

Step 8: Pay application fees online as per your category.

Step 9: You will receive a receipt confirming your payment. You can download it and keep it for future reference.
