A student of Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology Surat (SVNIT SURAT) has scored 100 percentile marks in the recently published result of Common Admission Test (CAT) by IIM Kozhikode.

Rishi Mittal, a final year undergraduate student of civil Engineering has scored 100 percentile in CAT 2019. He is among 10 students who has scored 100%ile in CAT 2019. Rishi has scored 241.45 marks out of 300 in CAT 2019. Out of two tests, He scored 100 percentiles in data interpretation and logical reasoning and 99.99 percentile in quantitative ability.

Mittal in a talk with Ahmedabad Mirror said, “I started preparing for CAT from July 2018. This gave me one-and-ahalf years to prepare. I started from knowing exam pattern to finding out my strength and weakness to practice the most in two of the three sections in CAT. This helped me a lot”

Talking about preparation, he said on normal days, he would prepare for around 3 to 4 hours daily apart from college and tutorials. “However, when on vacation, I used to prepare for 7 to 8 hours only for CAT,” he said.

Being among the toppers, he wishes to make it to IIM-Ahmedabad and IIM-Bangalore, the top two business schools in India. “The two institutes have great alumni network and a legacy that will help me apart from quality education that the institutes provide,” he said.

Among those scoring well include those who are yet to appear for final year of graduate degree this summer. They will be readying to make it to IIMs as soon as they complete their bachelor’s degree.

Rishi father Satish Mittal is an IT consultant. Rishi family stays in Mumbai. Rishi is originally from Mumbai, He shifted to Surat to pursue his Civil Engineering from SVNIT SURAT. He was allotted Mumbai centre in CAT-2019 and so chose to appear from Maharashtra for CAT exam.

As per IIM Kozhikode, 10 students scored 100 %ile out of which 4 are from Maharashtra and the remaining candidates are from six other states of Jharkhand, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. 6 are from IITs, 2 from NITs and 1 from Jadhavpur University.
