NIT students need to have a score of 8 CGPA at the end of third year to sit for an interview at IIT-Delhi
National Institute OF Technology (NIT) students will have an opportunity to join Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi (IIT DELHI) in their final year of BTech course and continue their PhD from prestigious IIT DELHI. This admission policy will be implemented from academic session 2020-21.
The Students will get their BTech degree from their respective NITs, Although They will be enrolled for PhD from IIT Delhi. This announcement was made by V. Ramagopal Rao, Director IIT DELHI. NIT students need to maintain a CGPA (Cumulative grade point average) of 8 at the end of third year to sit for an interview for an admission in Phd.
Interview will decide the future of NIT students. Selected student won’t need GATE score card for taking admission in IIT DELHI. CGPA is the average of grade points obtained for all semesters and courses completed up to given academic term.
RamGopal Rao went on to say “NIT students, who have a CGPA of 8 and above in their third year and are interested in research will be able to get direct admission in IIT Delhi for completing their final year here. After that, they can continue to pursue their PhD in the institute.”
