MNIT Jaipur: The Campus made for Me

Earlier, the institute was known by the name MREC (Malaviya Regional College of Engineering). The technical institute was established in the year 1963. The greenery of the campus covers an area of 320 acres.

The college is a public technical institute under the affiliation of MHRD. MNIT is inspired by freedom fighter Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya. The college is among “Vibrant Shades of Pink.” The lush greenery, a fountain in the middle, different engineering and research departments  perfectly resonates with the rhythm of “Campus made for Me.

Asia’s Largest Lecture Theatre Complex Popularly known as VLTC, The Vivekanand Lecture Theatre Complex, the multi-storeyed building has 40 classrooms with a capacity of 6500 students.

As far as academics are concerned, the institute offers a variety of courses of study in engineering (B. Tech, M. Tech), sciences (M.Sc.), management (M.B.A), design & humanities. The college ranked 35 in NIRF Ranking 2020. There are 8 engineering departments of different branches, and also IIIT Kota and NIT UK are sharing campus temporarily with the institute.

Now coming to the sports facilities, the campus has a Soccer ground, Cricket ground with nets for practice. The campus is also facilitated with three Basketball Courts and three Volleyball Courts. Moreover, an Indoor Badminton court, Billiards room, Chess room, Gymnasium, Jogging Tracks adds to its sports facilities.

Both Academics and Sports add on to student’s all-round personal development.

Let’s now have a look at significant landmarks in the campus :

The Computer Centre has 10 computer laboratories to host various services or applications and uses library digitalization. Shortly and popularly known as CC.

At the center of the MNIT Campus is Prabha Bhawan, a green building with its energy efficiency exceeding the prescribed note.

The campus has better canteen facilities to provide refreshments to students in breaks or on weekends. Namely, canteens are Annapurna, Nice Day, Amul Parlour and recently opened Saras Parlour.

Student Activity Centre, popularly known as SAC, it is the place that witnesses cultural, technical fests and ProNites.

Central Lawn, the place which absorbs the vibes of Dandiya Night, cultural shows by different artists, singers, and rappers like Shah, Ankit Tiwari, etc.

The campus comprises of staff colony, which is the residence of teaching faculties nearby, which MNIT Temple also shows its significant resemblance.

Let’s have the glimpses of students’ life on campus.

There are 10 boys and 3 girls’ hostels, namely Ganga, Aurobindo, Gargi, Hostel 4, Parijat Hostel, etc. Most of the hostels are facilitated with excellent mess facilities, fast speed Wi-Fi facility and indoor games like TT, Badminton court, etc.

For the hospitality of guests and students’ guardians, Indraprastha Guest House is 24 hrs open, which is just opposite to Prabha Bhawan.

Now let’s have a look at the fest for which everyone waits for
Blitzschlag:
It is 3 days annual Cultural Fest of MNIT aimed at innovative and technical interests among students. It hosts lectures, seminars, workshops, competitions, exhibitions, and quizzes.

Sphinx: It is 3 days annual Tech Fest of MNIT that offers an array of tech-related events perfectly synchronized with vibrant cultural events & ProNites.

Student Mentorship Program, SMP acts as a knowledge-sharing platform and enables constructive and positive interaction, guidance, and mentorship of junior students by senior students.

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, which is popularly known as ED Cell, acts as a facilitator and resource institution to motivate, guide, and help prospective and existing entrepreneurial endeavors/efforts through positive training interventions. It is sponsored by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Board (NSTEDB) and Department of Science and Technology(DST) Govt. of India.

Mavericks is a weekly newsletter service that covers all activities going on in the campus, both academic and non-academic, discussing ongoing placements, internships, achievements by students, events, projects and other happenings on the campus.

Codavid & Zine: Codavid is the official programming and coding club of the college. Zine is the robotics and research club of MNIT.

The Alumni-institute interaction is developed and maintained through the Alumni Network and Alumni chapters across the world under directions of the MNIT Jaipur Alumni Association (MNITJAA). We are connected with alumni through different social media handles like LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc.

The city of Jaipur is a precious symbol of the towering heritage of engineering and architecture, and “Transforming Tradition into Technology is MNIT Jaipur.” MNIT gives a platform to invent, declare, transform, and redefine yourself.
